Organix Morroccan Curling Perfection Defining Cream

As you all should know by now, I love finding products that define my wavy hair. More importantly, I love when products define my curls without leaving them crunchy. I despise when hair products leave my hair stiff and crunchy. Anyways, moving on…I have found a gem with this defining cream.

I’ve only used one Organix product before and I was pleased with the results when I came across this little bottle at my local Walgreens, I was pretty excited to try it out.

Even your hair deserves a drink after a long day

The next time you’re off to a BYOB function, consider leaving one beer at home in your fridge. Why? For your hair!

Surprisingly beer can help add body and shine to your hair. It also helps clean it and get rid of any excess junk/buildup.

I was a bit skeptical about this at first since it is beer after all. I was worried my hair would smell like a frat party throughout the day, but the smell does not last long.

Start off with just one can of beer, open it and let it sit there for a while. There are many different ways to incorporate beer into your hair care routine, so I’ll just start with the simplest.

After you shampoo your hair in the shower, poor the beer on your hair. Do not rinse it out right away! Massage it into your scalp as if it were any other shampoo and conditioner.  After a few minutes rinse it out with cold water, then condition your hair as normal.

A word of advice…

I’ve always been happy to have thick wavy hair. But as most of you may know, it takes quite a while to style. Months ago I was sick of how long it would take to straighten my hair because I had so much of it.

As some of may hair already guessed, I decided to chop off 7 inches of my hair. It’s just hair right? It grows back. But that’s not my issue here.

I also got my hair thinned out for the first and last time ever. It’s not that I was unhappy with having much less hair to style, it’s the after effects.

Garnier Fructis Wonder Waves

Normally when I buy any wave or curl enhancing products I try to find a gel or mousse of some sort. But I decided to try something different and opt for the spray to see if works the same.

The first thing I noticed about this product is the smell, it smells very fruity (like apples, maybe). A good smelling product is always a plus in my book. Continue reading

TRESemme Shine Spray-Product Review

This bottle can last for a while, you only need a few sprays.

What attracted me to this product is that it claims to reduce frizz. I thought it would be great because it’s also a shine spray, so it’s like getting two products in one. I have never really used a shine spray before on a consistent basis so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

After using this product for a while, I can say that it should be used mostly as a shine spray, as it does not reduce frizz very well.

The spray did smooth down a few fly-aways and make my hair a bit more polished, but it would be better to use some type of hair pomade or cream.

I do however, like the shine that it gives. It’s not too much or too little.

PanteneProV- Curly Series Product Review

I used both of these bottles until the very end.

For over a month now I’ve been using Pantene’s line for curly in the dry to moisturized formula.

As most of you may have noticed, wavy and curly hair is a bit drier than other hair types. It’s important to keep hair moisturized to help shape the curls. If not, your curls and waves will end up with of course, the dreaded frizz.

After using both the shampoo and conditioner, I must say that I have noticed a difference in my hair. After my hair has completely dried it does feel softer and more manageable. There was a lot less frizz as well especially around the crown area of my hair.  Continue reading

Put the brush away

Put your brush in a drawer, you won't be needing it.

It has been approximately 4 months since I decided to stop brushing my hair.

I know that seems crazy, but trust me there is a method to my madness.  My hair is thick, wavy, and kinda curly. The more you brush hair that naturally has waves the frizzier it will get. Wavy and curly hair has a natural shape, the more you brush the more difficult it is to get back to that natural shape.

Since I’ve stopped brushing my hair, my hair is less frizzy and the curls/waves look much nicer and more defined.
