With finals coming up a lot of us are starting to get a bit lazier when it comes to our hair routine. On the days that you wake up late or you simply didn’t feel like washing your hair for whatever reason….baking soda or baby powder is your solution.

That’s right try using soap instead of shampoo.
No, not just any old bar soup, I’m talking about Dr. Bronner’s Tea Tree Oil Soap.
Sometimes after I wash my hair with shampoo, it still does not feel clean enough. I can still feel the products that are leftover in my hair and it drives me crazy. The reason for this is because sometimes just shampooing once isn’t enough to get rid of all the oils that have collected in my hair. Instead of doubling up or tripling the number of times I shampoo, I use this tea tree oil instead.
I know that seems impossible but it’s true! So put away those arousal cans, you won’t be needing them today. Instead be sure to have lots and lots of bobby bins!
For this hair tip, use the regular standard straight bobby pins, not the u-shaped ones because those won’t work for this.
Bust out the curling iron and begin to curl your hair normally. After you curl each piece, coil it together, take a bobby pin and pin it to the top of your head. Repeat this process for the rest of your hair. Continue reading

The no shampoo method has been around for quite sometime. I tried this myself and I failed. I went for about a month or so without using shampoo. When I told people this, they thought it was disgusting. Let me clarify this, I did wash my hair, I just did not use a shampoo. Instead I used a dry shampoo in the shape of a foam. The only reason that I failed at this is because I did not feel that my dry shampoo cleaned my hair enough. But I did notice a definite improvement in the health of my hair. Surprisingly, my hair got wavier.

The next time you’re off to a BYOB function, consider leaving one beer at home in your fridge. Why? For your hair!
Surprisingly beer can help add body and shine to your hair. It also helps clean it and get rid of any excess junk/buildup.
I was a bit skeptical about this at first since it is beer after all. I was worried my hair would smell like a frat party throughout the day, but the smell does not last long.
Start off with just one can of beer, open it and let it sit there for a while. There are many different ways to incorporate beer into your hair care routine, so I’ll just start with the simplest.
After you shampoo your hair in the shower, poor the beer on your hair. Do not rinse it out right away! Massage it into your scalp as if it were any other shampoo and conditioner. After a few minutes rinse it out with cold water, then condition your hair as normal.
Time to adjust your shower routine. Pretty much since forever, we’ve all been trained to wrap a towel around our heads to dry our hair.
Little did any of us know, the fabric that majority of towels are made out of causes frizz.

Put your brush in a drawer, you won't be needing it.
It has been approximately 4 months since I decided to stop brushing my hair.
I know that seems crazy, but trust me there is a method to my madness. My hair is thick, wavy, and kinda curly. The more you brush hair that naturally has waves the frizzier it will get. Wavy and curly hair has a natural shape, the more you brush the more difficult it is to get back to that natural shape.
Since I’ve stopped brushing my hair, my hair is less frizzy and the curls/waves look much nicer and more defined.
